Trips, trips and.. exams

After the magical moment of seeing Roma play in the Olimpico it was time for another football match.. we wanted to go see Milan-Genova, but apparently that was a high risk match, so we found out. the only other option was Inter-Juve in the Coppa Italia, but.. we only found out about this a few hours before the match! So we hurried to the Banca popolare di Milano, which is the only place in Padova where you can buy tickets for Inter/Milan matches, but of course there was some sort of problem and we couldn't buy the tickets.
inspired by Italian chaos and disorganisation we decided to just risk it and drive to Milan (yes my friend has a car Smile) without tickets! After a long long roadtrip (it turned out to be a lot further then we thought) we arrived in Milan an hour before the match. We found the biglietteria where we, literally, had to fight to get tickets. After having been nearly squashed my aggresive Interisti (obviously different from the great Romanisti) we managed to get tickets! The fist half was pretty boring and it seemed like Inter was acually the Argentinian national team in disguise, but it got interesting in the second half. Finally at 3am we arrived back in Padova. Quite the adventure!

2 days later I had an exam, about my favourite subject.. linguistics. I passed it, but don't ask me how! Lets say I'm very creative at inventing answers..

Then it was time for the Carnevale di Venezia (after ending up in the most sketchy 80s club I've ever seen) Of course it didn't go as we expected, because of the death of 2 Venetians the day before, the opening of the carnaval was postponed! But, as all tourists did, we pretended to not know this and had a great day in sunny Venice with our red glitter masks!

Of course it's not all fun and games, so it was time for yet another exam..about the linguistical differences between Dutch and Italian this time. Very interesting indeed... I read 4 books for this exam, but couldn't remember a thing of what I'd read.
Being Dutch a.k.a punctual, I was at school at 10am sharp. But, no teacher.. 10.30.. still no teacher. So we decided to go look for her. We found her in her office watching a dvd...!! She had forgotten about our exam and said that we hadn't even registered for the exam. We proved her wrong.. and after having imorovised some questions we could do the exam afterall. Despite not knowing 1 question, I got a 29... Smile hurray for me!

After the exam it was hurry hurry to the station where the Eurostar was waiting to take me to casa Loes in Firenze!
Loes and Jutta where already waiting for me and we met up with a Perugian friend for aperitivo, and I really have to make some promotion now, it was the best aperitivo ever! If you're ever in Firenze go to Kitsch at piazza Beccaria!
Then we went to play Beerpong.. the game where you play in teams and throw ping pong balls in the other teams cups. The team whose cups are empty first loses. I formed a team with Jutta and to our surprise we beat 2 Brazilian boys (and my god were they dissapointed in themselves Razz)
The day after we went to a club with the greatest name ever: "Yab, you are beautiful" Yab also has a sister club called "Yag, you are gay" ....
New day, new aperitivo! This time we met up with Anna and Sophie, our Perugian friends.

On friday Ramon and Giuseppe joined us in Firenze! And they brought the Decathlon hutkoffer (Decathlonne..)
It was time for sight seeing by day and a traditional Dutch pannenkoeken dinner by night followed by a night in club filled with 50cent look-a-likes (trust me, even that gets old)
On saturday we took the train to Siena, lovely city! Bit like Perugia! Except the mummified head in the church was a bit scary...We even went to the palasport di Siena because apparently Siena's basketball team is the best in Italy and we saw a gigantic basketball player whose name I unfortunately don't know..
saturday evening it was the Catalani's turn to cook and they made us a Catalan dinner. Early sunday morning it was time to say goodbye and I took the train back to terrorcity Padova, were the Colombo girls were waiting for me to celebrate Ania's birthday!

Yesterday the time had come to say goodbye to our very own Colombiana Elisah.. who is now back in Belgium...
More and more people are leaving now, it's getting quiet in Padova.
My return is scheduled in a week and a half.. until then I still have to make a horrible exam..
wish me luck and see you all soon!

Baci!
